“Is there any way I can convince you to reconsider?”
You are a salesperson and one of your clients has told you that she's canceling her account and moving over to a competitor's product. You ask her this because you don't want to lose the business.
“Can you explain to me how this works?”
You've just started a new job in an office and you're trying to send a fax. You can't figure out how to use it. You ask a coworker this.
“I got yelled at for not calling.”
You're a teenager and you stayed out late the night before without calling your parents to tell them. They were angry and yelled at you. The next day at school, you tell your friends this.
“I went out of my way to make sure you were comfortable.”
You invited your friend to a party where she didn't know anyone, and now she's complaining that you didn't talk to her enough. You feel like you spent a lot of time with her and are angry that she's complaining. You say this in frustration.
“You get to pick and choose when you work.”
