(someone) likes (something) except for (something)
When you like something in general, but there's one characteristic or part that you don't like, you say "I like it except for ___." For example, you can say:
- except for the color
- except for the size
- except for this part over here
When the problem you have isn't with a part, but with an overall quality, there are two ways to express it:
I like this one except that we already have something in that color.
I like this one except for the fact that we already have something in that color.
Another example:
I liked it except that the fish was a little overcooked.
I liked it except for the fact that the fish was a little overcooked.
